Internet Marketing Business Opportunities

Now you have your product or target market and you are ready to choose a domain name for your web site.  There are several things you would want to consider when choosing your name.

First of all, you need to consider your product and incorporate words that will define your product into your domain name.  This will tell people what your site is about.

You would also want to have a keyword or keyword phrase incorporated in your domain name.  If possible, you would want it near the beginning.

You will want to consider what words or phrases someone who is searching the web will type  in to find your  particular product.

Ideally a short domain name is preferred.  However, because there are thousands of new sites going on the web everyday, chances are the name you have chosen will not available.  Therefore there are several options you can take when this occurs.

• You can choose a domain name and then follow it with “auxiliary words”. Auxiliary words are words such as 101, info, or your name.   For example, if you were selling a product having to do with dog training, you could have dogtraining101 or dogtrainingbyharold.  

 

• If your domain name of choice has already been taken, you could change use your domain name “.com” address to “.net, “.info” or “.biz”.  Most people are more familiar with “.com” but some of the others are also beginning to become more recognized. 

 

•  Even though a short domain name is preferred  sometimes it is necessary to have a long name with as many as 35 characters.  You could also divide the words with hyphens making your domain name easier to read.  An example of this would be dog-training-101-by-harold. 

 

In summary, when deciding on a domain name you want something that relates to your product/business.  You need a key word or key phrase that will help bring traffic to your site and you need to keep it as simple as possible and reader friendly.

You would assume that whatever Internet Marketing Program you decided to join would basically teach the same concepts.  I joined two different Programs and there is a world of difference between the two. I can’t speak for the other programs, but I can compare the two that I am an affiliate.

If you read my previous blog you know that I was very disappointed with the first Internet  Marketing Program that I joined.  Briefly, I was given a minimal amount of written material which did not go into any depth about how to set up an Internet Marketing business.  Then the only contact I received was that they wanted me to invest nearly $7,000 to help me get my business started!

However, the second Internet Marketing Program that I joined was with Shawn Casey’s Easy Profit Strategies Club. It soon became  apparent to me that he had put a lot of time, effort and money in helping his affiliates succeed in building their business.

With Shawn’s program, there is an abundance of written and audio-visual learning material.  The audio-visual instructions are given in a clear, simple, step-by-step manner illustrating how to perform each step. 

 This makes it clear to the person who does not have an Internet Marketing or sales background, or for that matter, someone who doesn’t know much about computers,to understand precisely and follow the instructions.

In addition they make available a variety of software programs, 500 plus templates for personal use, multiple monthly bonuses and occasional surprise bonuses.  Last but not least, they supply various products that can be downloaded for sale where I can keep all the profits.
 
I can connect to his webinars two or three times weekly for even more information where questions are answered on a real time basis.  Or, there is a “help desk” available with very knowledgeable personnel who can answer your questions.

My investment has been minimal even though I joined Shawn’s monthly Club so I could continue to receive more benefits.  In my opinion the investment is minimal when compared to the amount of instruction, bonuses and support I receive.

In conclusion, I am very pleased with the information and support I receive from this program and would recommend it to anyone, new or experienced in Internet Marketing.

Getting with the right program in the Internet Marketing arena is essential in becoming successful in this business.  So how do you know which program is the one that you should be associated with?

There are  thousands of Internet Marketing Programs online that you could choose from.  But, most likely, not many do enough  research to know which company they should be joining with before they sign up as an affiliate, and most won’t  join more than one program.

However, being a skeptic, I decided that I would join two programs.  Thinking that whatever information one program was holding back from me,  I could pick up that valuable information from the other program!

I quickly found out that there was a substantial difference between the two Internet Marketing Programs I joined and getting in the right program does make a difference.

I was sent a manual that was basically filled with  random, non-essential information.  Aside from advertising, it did not expound upon any in-depth  Internet marketing techniques.

The different tools used in Internet marketing were briefly touched upon but again the most intent instruction was about advertising.  There are a few, very short online tutorials you can retrieve, but again, not very informative.

I was instructed to call a company representative to find out about the different options I could choose to get my business going.  At this point, I was advised that my only option was  to make an additional investment into my business.  In my case, the company  wanted $7,000 more, and this was for more advertising!

In addition they gave me two web sites that would link back to their company and if I wanted my own web site I would have to pay the company an additional $19.95 a month.

The Rep also informed me that his company would sign me up as an affiliate with E-bay, Amazon and a hundred different companies. Therefore, if someone landed on my site and linked to one of these companies, I would get a small commission.

The guarantee that they boldly advertised is only good if I advertised once a month for an entire year, using one of their methods that they have suggested.  Be sure to read the fine print!

On the other hand, the other company that I joined is the complete opposite from the one I discussed above.  In my next blog I will explain the advantages of getting with the right program.  And as usual, I welcome your input or anything that you would like to add.
